Two lives, one beginning

Our story didn't begin in the same place, or even the same country, but from the very start, it felt like the most natural thing in the world.

From Paris to London, what grew between us was simple, certain, and impossible to ignore.

On the 18th of February 2027, in the heart of Accra, we will say "yes" to a lifetime together, surrounded by those we love most.

We cannot wait to share this day with you.

Getting into
Ghana

Most guests travelling from France or the UK will need a visa to enter Ghana. Happily, it is a straightforward process. Here is everything you need, whichever route you choose.

Important information

Apply 4–8 weeks before travelling, as December and January are peak season at the embassies.

Fees and requirements can change, so always confirm on the official sites before applying.

Holders of ECOWAS and many African passports are visa-exempt or fee-free, so check the list of member states.

Most of our guests are travelling from France or the UK. If you're coming from another country, please check your local requirements and reach out to Edem or Morgane if you need any help.

When and where is the wedding?

The ceremony is on Thursday 18 February 2027 at 2:00 PM at The Savannah, East Cantonments, Accra. The celebrations run from Monday 15 to Friday 19 February. See the full timeline.

What should I wear?

Monday: your finest traditional attire. Thursday: our colours, berries and olives. Friday: all white. See the dress code and outfit ideas.

Do I need a visa?

Most guests from France and the UK do. The online eVisa is the simplest route, and you should apply 4–8 weeks before flying. A yellow fever certificate is required to enter Ghana. Visa routes and documents.

What happens when I land?

You arrive at Kotoka International Airport, about 20 minutes from Cantonments outside rush hour. Have your passport, visa and yellow fever certificate ready for immigration.

Please arrange your pick-up before you fly: ask your hotel for an airport transfer when you book, or book a driver in advance. Try not to rely on Uber or Bolt at the airport itself; the pick-up area gets very busy and the wait can be long. Once you are in town, ride-hailing apps work well. If you need help arranging a driver, write to us.

How do I get around Accra?

Ride-hailing apps (Uber, Bolt, Yango) are the easiest way to get around and are inexpensive. Traffic builds up in the late afternoon, so allow extra time to reach the venue.

What about money?

The currency is the Ghanaian cedi (GHS). Hotels, larger restaurants and supermarkets take cards. Carry some cash for taxis, markets and small shops; ATMs are easy to find in Cantonments, Osu and Airport City. Tipping is appreciated but not expected.

What will the weather be like?

February is dry season: hot and sunny, around 30–33 °C by day and warm at night, sometimes hazy from the harmattan. Light fabrics, sunscreen and a hat will serve you well.

Any health advice?

A yellow fever vaccination is compulsory for entry, taken at least 10 days before you fly. Ghana is a malaria area, so speak to your doctor or a travel clinic about prevention and pack insect repellent. Drink bottled or filtered water. Pharmacies are plentiful in Accra.

How do I stay connected?

Roaming from France or the UK is expensive in Ghana. The easiest option is an eSIM you set up before you fly, so you have data the moment you land.

We use Airalo: buy a Ghana plan in the app, install it at home, and switch it on when you land. Our referral code EDEM0988 gives you £2.50 off your first eSIM. Your phone needs to be eSIM-compatible and unlocked.

Prefer a physical SIM? MTN and Telecel sell SIM cards and eSIMs at the airport and in town; bring your passport to register. Hotels have Wi-Fi, and the wedding app works offline once it has loaded.

Plugs and voltage?

Ghana uses 230 V with British-style three-pin (type G) sockets, plus some type D. Guests from the UK need no adapter; guests from France should bring one.

Language and time zone?

English is the official language and is spoken everywhere. Ghana is on GMT all year: the same time as the UK in February, and one hour behind France.
